Hallo Community,

Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 4.0 - Licencing Commercial usage
Hello,
I have a little question about the commercial usage of Modeling Express?
Is it allowed to use this free software to use in a small company as a solution for small designs like in Creo Elements Personal Edition or is it just allowed for personal usage?
Thanks for an answer
New to Creo -- Elements Direct Modeling Express won't start after install
Hi folks. I'm Kent and am hoping to transition from Google SketchUp to something more stable (and also a surface modeler). My needs are very basic, I print small plastic parts for electronic assemblies on a Solidoodle 3. Some of the SketchUp users suggested I check out Creo. So here I am.
I downloaded Creo Sketch and 64-bit Direct Modeling Express 4.0. Sketch comes up fine but Express hangs on the initial splash screen. An error msg says an (unnamed) DLL installation routine failed.
I have looked here for an answer but so far haven't found one.
I told Norton anti-virus to Exclude the PTC folders from auto-protect, rebooted, reinstalled/repaired, etc. no luck.
I'm running a Toshiba Satellite laptop with I don't know what kind of graphics adapter, 8GB of Ram, butt loads of swap file and Windows 8 (ugh).
So, can anyone offer some ideas on what DLL is hurling here and how/where to install or initialize it? ! I appreciate your time and advice.
Thank you.
How do I get an ECAD exported .IDF file to reference my 3D STEP database when importing to Creo?
Hi,
I am trying to pass an ECAD .IDF file from Mentor Graphics Expedition into CREO Direct Modeling 18.1 (with PCB licence). So far all of the components import with component outlines and height properties but have no details associated with them. (part pins, bga balls etc.) Only square blocks appear.
I have a database of 3D STEP models in a separate directory and i would like the .IDF file to reference this folder and use the detailed STEP models as parts for the imported PCB.
From what ive read the 3D models need to be in .prt or .asm format to reference them properly. I have not found a thread that explains this process.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Creo Slow while navigating sheets
Hi Guys,
I am using Creo 5. We are using large assemblies in my drawing.
The problem is while navigating the drawing sheets it takes about 5 - 10 minutes from one sheet to another sheet.
The graphics card is high specification
If there are any tips that could be followed to make it fast please provide here.

Creo Elements Direct Licensing issue
Hey everyone.
I have been having an issue ever since our previous CAD support person, notice I said previous , modified my system to use floating licenses.
Now everytime I start the application I get a message saying that the portable license has expired dated 11/23/2012.
Yes I have been clearing and closing the window since then because we don't know what he did.
Also, now I am unable to check out portable licenses using the licensing configuration client.
Now we aer stumped and his recent response was to re-image my laptop and reinstall the software.
Anyone have experience with this?
We have tried everything.
Thanx
Bill

No parameters when creating a new subassembly inside of an assembly.
I have an assembly that has multiple hardware items in it and I want to separate the hardware items from the rest of the components. When I select the items and click on 'Move to New Subassembly' it seems the parameters(part #, description, etc) do not appear in the new assembly. If I start a new Assembly from scratch, the parameters populate/appear in the file.
Does somebody know of a way to make the parameters appear using the 'Move to New Subassembly' feature?

A Master Data article has got reserved to my Model Manager user and i cannot unreserve it now, the unreserve button is grayed out. I have unreserved the corresponding 3D model and 2D drawings.
Is there a solution to this problem?

Stückliste in Creo Elements/direct modeling Express, geht das?
Hallo zusammen,

Werner
Creo Elements/Direct Modeling Express 4.0, Windows 7 professional
Hallo,
Zitat:
Systemvoraussetzungen:
- Betriebssystem:
- Windows® 7 Ultimate, Enterprise, Business und Home Premium (32-Bit- und 64-Bit-Editionen)
- Windows Vista® Ultimate, Enterprise, Business und Home Premium (32-Bit- und 64-Bit-Editionen)
- Windows XP Home und Professional (32-Bit- und 64-Bit-Editionen)
Zitat Ende.
Kann ich auch die Win 7 prof verwenden? Hat das schon jemand ausprobiert?
Für Antworten vielen Dank im voraus.
Grüße
Damian
