This just started a day ago. We have been using this program and system for 5+ years with no problem. Error message that the engineers are getting when they try to start up the Model Manager. "could not connect to database server: (name of our server) The error code at the bottom of the detailed summary is. Error Messages = 10002 - ***ERROR: Failure in communication to server. As far as we know we have not made any changes other than Microsoft updates which we have backed out the latest ones, which did not fix this issue. Any help here? we do not have a service contract at this time.

Interchange Format for 3D Model to import to Creo
Hi,
I'm currently working on a very simply 3D model that I need to bring into a more powerful software to continue working on as 3D Builder in Windows 10 is being pushed to its limits.

I have attempted to load the IGS/STP files into Creo from FreeCAD, but it fails to load the file.
What interchange format can I use? I'm at a loss here, and I'd really like to get started on working on this file more.

New to Creo/Elements/Direct
Hi everyone. I'm new to this software. I just downloaded it yesterday and I hope I'm in the right place to ask questions. I just started doing the first quick project and was wondering if there's a way to take a snapshop/screenshot or export a view of the part I'm working on to say post it online or show it online for example? Also what are the different file extensions in the software? I don't think I've seen these so if anyone can clarify this for me that would be helpful. The version I'm using is at this link. Also forgive me if I got the place wrong, all the white background is making my eyes hurt. I'm on Windows 7 and I'm not sure if it's the browser or this forum. If there's a way to change this too, please let me know. This is my first post so I'm just trying to figure out where things are.Thanks.

Viewport turns black anytime I start a new sketch in Windows 10.
I recently upgraded my Dell XPS 13 from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and am having a problem with the viewport turning black anytime I try to start a new sketch. All of my drivers are updated, I have tried multiple resolutions, and I can't seem to find any solutions.
Anyone have an advice and/or similar experiences?

ich habe die Studenten Version von Creo 2.0, das sollte aber kein Problem sein:
Und zwar kann ich mein Bauteil nicht drehen oder sonstig bewegen. Die Zoom-Funktioniert funktioniert, ich kann allerdings nicht mit der Strg.-Taste arbeiten.
Wo kann ich die Tastenbelegung überprüfen/ändern ändern? Ich nutze Windows 8.

PTC Proxy Configuration: Connection failed
I am new to the PTC Creo Direct Modeling Express 6.0 setup, and downloaded this free single user CAD tool to get started with making 3D objects. I choose the 64-bit version, and installed on my Windows 8.1 machine. After installing, I want to start the program, and it asked me to activate for new users. After registering for an account with PTC, I then attempted to activate, and get the following:
Connection failed.
For Modeling Express to automatically activate,
it requires access to the internet. Please check if a proxy has to be specified, and enter your company's proxy server details so that the activation can proceed.
I don't have any proxy settings in my browser, and am on a home network behind a NetGear wireless router. I do have access to the internet, and can't seem to determine why I am getting this message. Has anyone else seen this before? Any idea what I need to do to get PTC to see the internet?

Model Manager - Prevent user from overwriting Released file
I know it's mainly a training issue; but, how do you prevent a (new) user from overwriting Released parts, assemblies, drawings, erc?
As long as a file is in Work state, I don't care if a user overwrites all day long, I just want to stop him from overwriting files in Released state.
Only someone in the Admin group should be able to overwrite files; even then Released is Released and you should only be able Major / Minor Rev something.

Search Model Manager for empty attribute
When I add a new masterdata to modelmanager most of the attributes are blank. I'd like to create a saved search in model manager for parts where I'm the owner but a specific attribute is blank ?
Any way to do this ?

How to Retrieve pervious iterations of a prt. model?
Good Morning Users,
Within windchill and creo elements , how does one obtain access to pervious iterations of a part model within your workspace.
Ie, the model been saved 5 times, but reached a dead end. Wish to return to the third saved model. Still possible?
With wildfire3 had access to xxx.prt.6

Nouveau sur le forum et nouvel utilisateur de Creo Elements Direct (passage de Cocreate 14 a elements direct 18), j'ai quelques petit problèmes de raccourcis.
Première chose, je voudrais si possible, ajouter un raccourcis au niveau du curseur (lorsque l'on clique sur un text, une proposition de fonction s'affiche => je voudrais en ajouter).
De plus je voudrais paramétrer la souris pour modifier les touches de zoom (clique gauche + droit ou clique molette + droit).
Et ma troisième question est de sortir d'un text après l'avoir validé avec le clique de la molette.

Annotation snap
Hello,
it would be nice if there is a snap command when I move lines or dimensions.
That could be a square like in other CAD-programs.
This would be helpful to find the exactly point where the lines or dimensions should be positioned.

Position parts and assy in new window.
Is it possible to when positioning a newly opend part from Model Manager (With option position at load marked) to get the part in a new smaller window and current assy in a big window? Instead of having to zoom out to see the newly opend part zoom in to it select an edge then zoom out and again in to current assy and select an edge.

Error with open file on Pro/E
Hello
I got a problem when I try to open a ".ASM" file on one of my new HP desktop.
When I chose the floder and select the file then click "open", and the pro/e just shutdown.But the same file could be open on another computers.
My new desktop's OS is windows 7 Enterprise 64bit ,with Intel i7-4790 ,and other computers can open this file normally, so I use the "Procmon" to capture some detail while the error occur.
the result as attach,there's hundreds of error log while I open file, but I can't really understand what those message represents.
So, if anyone can answer it, I'll be very very grateful.
